Learning to drive and need your permit? Ready to take the road test to obtain your driver license? Lost your permit? No problem – we can help you. Come to our Motor Vehicle Center at 4733 E Broadway @ Swan and we will issue you a driver license within a few minutes.
Please note: We issue temporary credentials with a photo) and your permanent credential will be mailed to you within 15 business days.
You must be at least 15 years and 6 months old. You will need to bring in one primary ID such as an original US birth certificate or US passport and social security number.
You will complete an application, take a vision test and complete a 30-question multiple choice test so be sure to study the MVD manual (available online at Adot.gov). If you are under 18, your application will need to be signed by your parent or legal guardian (original legal guardianship document required). If your parents are divorced and share joint custody, both parents must sign your application.

If you are a new driver applying for your license for the first time after learning to drive with your permit, you will need to complete a MVD application, pass a vision test, and pass a road test to make sure you are a safe driver. Be sure to bring your instructional permit, current vehicle registration, insurance card (must be paper copy) and make sure you know your social security number. If you do not have a vehicle, you can use our vehicle for an additional fee.

Lost your permit? No problem. It’s easy and takes just a few minutes! If you are under 18, we DO NOT require your parent or legal guardian’s signature.
